Let the Spirit Guide You

My wonderful cousin, Amy- in Alaska, posted a story about needing a lost lamp in her new home. You should really read this, because it's happens to us all. I had this happen to me yesterday even-I had lost my son's baby pictures. Reading her words, triggered my own experience...

I was dropping my youngest off at preschool, when I noticed that all the moms were carrying posters inside the building with their kids. I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to MAKE a picture poster("All About Me") for my four year old! (Oh crap!) So, I told my son to go and have fun with his friends and I'd be back with his poster. Then I asked his teacher when they'd have sharing time...and I ran to the car. All the way home, my mind was racing with the questions of Where did I put the poster-boards?, Where did I put the school photos? and Will I be able to pull this off in one hour?!

Pulling into the driveway, I knew that I needed to have a little help with this task. Especially since I was on a time crunch. I took some time to start the day right by saying to Heavenly Father..."Thank you for sending me this little boy. He is the joy of my life and he really deserves to have a normal day with pictures to show off to his friends. It's not his fault that his mother is a space-cadet with no memory what-soever. Will you help me FIND those baby pictures and the school portraits that I've misplaced?". I went down to the basement...I felt myself literally be guided and pulled. I immediately saw his baby book and the picture packets from school on the book case! I'm thinking, "Oh, that's where they've been hiding!". Behind some boxes I found the poster-board and I threw everything on the ping-pong table and started gluing and labeling :) I pulled out some stickers and Ta-Da! I made a cute little show-and-tell poster :) Without help from Above though, I know that I would of still be searching for those pictures.

I'm grateful for so many wonderful friends (and cousins! *Susan, who tells me that my "one-column-blog" is a sign to get off the computer :) -reminding me of life lessons that need to be shared with others. I'm sometimes slow to remember my blessings-but I know that I have good friends to remind me to post those blessings everyday.

That gave me goosebumps!! Our Father is so loving. I would hesitate to ask such a prayer, thinking perhaps it was beneath his scope, you know--but nothing really is. He's ready to answer our prayers if we'll just ask. Great post!!

Such a nice story. Prayer is so powerful and always there for us, if we use it. Great post. m

That's a great story. And a lesson that if it's important to us, it's important to our Heavenly Father.

And I love the comic too.

yeah I've had several instances like that. One this past week, one a few years ago with a lost camera in Mexico, another on what to do for my sick little boy and where to find better care for him. ALL ANSWERED! Just in the nick of time too. Thanks for the reminder to keep being grateful for these times we've had a BIG helpful hand!

I loved this story! Thanks for sharing it. Such a great reminder to us all that He's always there to help us no matter what, and that He loves us enough to.

I've learned that sometimes, you just have to ask...

Ah! Just saw the picture of the Dallas Temple on your sidebar--I love the Dallas temple! (mainly because, it's the one we go to). Aww, I love that you were married in Dallas :)
